Labzganj

Balochi Academy, Quetta is the oldest registered literary and cultural body with a mandate for the promotion of Balochi language, art, and culture. In 1958, a large number of writers, poets, political and tribal leaders congregated at Mastung, the main purpose of which was to seek their financial, political, and moral support for Balochi Academy. The Academy was formally established in 1961. The research complex and Head office of the Academy was constructed in 1998. Balochi Academy is legally registered under the Act of Balochistan Charities regulation Authority (BCRA) Balochistan.

Labzganj or Labzbalad (Dictionary) is the most comprehensive word collection of Balochi with their meanings in four languages. Balochi Academy has published Balochi to Balochi Dictionary in 2015 and 2017 edited and compiled by Mr. Jan Muhammad Dashti. The Academy also has published Balochi to English Dictionary in 2019 & 2024 which is compiled and edited by Dr. Naseer Dashti. Another Dictionary named Lawzganj (Labzganj) has been published by Academy in four languages i.e. Balochi, Urdu, Brahoi and Sindhi. This lawzganj has compiled and edited by Mr. Pana Baloch.

Balochi Language is spoken in Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Arab countries and Central Asian countries, but unfortunately this language has been ranked to Low resource languages due to availability of less resources in the digital platforms. Balochi Academy under its Project “Natural Language processing in Balochi” aims to digitize the Balochi language to make it compatible for machine learning algorithms and robotics field.

This Database (labzganj.com), is the most comprehensive word database along with their Balochi meanings, in addition to this, the meanings in English, Urdu and Brahui are also available in this database. The working on this Project was initiated in November 2023. The Dictionary database has been launched in 20th March 2025.

بلوچی اکیڈمی ءَ بلوچی زبان، لبزانک، ربیدگ، تاریخ ءُ دودمان ءِ سرحالاں صداں پولکاری ءُ لبزانکی کتاب چھاپ کُتگ۔ چریشاں بلوچی ءُ ایدگہ زباناں لَبز بَلَد ہم ہَوار اَنت۔ اکیڈمی ءَ 2015 ءُ 2017 ءَ واجہ جان محمد دشتی ءِ رد ءُ بند ءُ گچین کتگیں ’’بلوچی لبزبلد‘‘ چھاپ کُتگ۔ اکیڈمی ءَ ڈاکٹر نصیر دشتی ءِ بلوچی ءُ انگریزی لبزبلد ءُ انگریزی ءُ بلوچی لبزبلد چھاپ کُتَگ اَنت کہ ایش 2019 ءُ 2024 ءَ چھاپ ءُ شنگ بُوتگ اَنت۔ ایشی ءَ ابید اکیڈمی ءَ بلوچی، براہوئی، سندھی ءُ اُردو زبانانی یک لبزبلدے ’’لوز گنج‘‘ ءِ نام ءَ چھاپ کُتَگ کہ ایشی ءَ را واجہ پناہ بلوچ ءَ رِد ءُ بند داتگ۔ اے لبزبلداں ہزاراں بلوچی لبز ءُ آہانی معنا درگیجگ بُوتگ انت۔
